Jacques Julliard is an expert on contemporary history. His research has focused on the labor movement and on the history of political cultures in France since the French Revolution.

Claude Imbert joined Agence France Presse at age 20 and participated actively in the creation of new bureaus in Central Africa before turning to reporting on major events in Africa. Editor-in-Chief of the AFP, he then joined the magazine Express where he also became editor-in-chief, and afterward Paris-Match.
