This performance includes Sonata for Flute and Piano in E
minor, Opus 167 “Undine” by Carl Reinecke; Sonata No. 1 for Flute and
Piano in F minor, Opus 120, No. 1 by Johannes Brahms; Suite for Flute
and Piano, Opus 34 by Charles-Marie Widor; and Sonata in E-flat Major,
Opus 18, by Richard Strauss.
Pahud was appointed principal flute of the Berlin Philharmonic at just
22 years old, making him one of the orchestra’s youngest principals ever.
His innate musicality and extraordinary technique have since earned
him solo appearances in Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United
States.
Pianist Eric Le Sage will be accompanying Pahud. Le Sage -- along with
Pahud and clarinetist Paul Meyer -- is founder and artistic director of
“Music a l’Emperi,” an international chamber music festival in Salon de
Provence, France. |
